Breastfeeding and Family Foods: LOVING and HEALTHY
Gaining momentum for the breastfeeding movement

Going strong for thirteen years, World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) was organized to revitalize and recover the practice of breastfeeding. Possibly the greatest outreach vehicle for the breastfeeding movement, WBW is celebrated today in over 120 countries. This year’s theme – Breastfeeding and Family Foods: LOVING and HEALTHY – aims to promote the value of continuing to breastfeed children to two years or beyond and also raise awareness of the risks and costs of introducing other foods and drinks to breastfed babies before six months – strengthening support for babies to receive at least six months of exclusive breastfeeding.

World Breastfeeding Week is officially celebrated August 1 to 7 but different events are celebrated throughout the year for success in the different countries. For information about events going on in your community, contact the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action at (604) 658-4816 or visit www.waba.org.my.

Thoughts: Babymama Drama and Babydaddy Blues

"My question to you is: Have you been involved in the family court system for child-support or custody issues? If yes, why did it come to that? If no, is it something that you would do if you had to?"
